Metro South CID to Host Super District 6 Commissioner Online Candidate Forum, April 29, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
Conley, GA – April 28, 2020 – The Metro South Community Improvement District (CID), will be hosting a virtual online candidate forum from 6 – 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, for the Super District 6 DeKalb County Commissioner seat being vacated by Kathie Gannon.
The event will be conducted via Zoom live stream due to the COVID-19 outbreak in order to protect the candidates and viewers involved. The CID felt that it was important for DeKalb County citizens to learn more about the candidates looking to fill the position that Kathie Gannon has held since 2005.
“This will be the first candidate forum for Super District 6 candidates, and we believe it is important to give the candidates the chance to speak with the public during this time,” said Emory Morsberger, president – Metro South CID. “The CID and its members are happy to provide this opportunity for both the candidates and the public,” he added.
The online forum will be conducted via Zoom and Facebook Live, and will feature the three candidates running for the seat, including Maryam Ahmad, Emily Halevy and Ted Terry. The event will be moderated by Tharon Johnson, founder and CEO of Paramount Consulting Group, and candidates will be allotted time to answer questions covering transportation, redevelopment, security and more. Viewers may also submit questions via the Zoom question and answer option or in the Facebook Live comments.
The public can register to watch the forum by clicking here. In addition, a link to live stream the event will be recorded and posted after the forum on Metro South CID’s Facebook page. For more information and to register for the event, visit Metro South CID’s website.
